Cool to be Kind
Cool to be Kind is a simple concept that was started by Anthony Head and Sarah Fisher.
Cool to be Kind was launched on January 1st 2014 for the sole purpose of promoting the message that it is Cool to be Kind to animals. We leave it up to you to define what being kind means and recognise that no act of kindness is ever too small.
You find them on their webpage X
on Facebook X
on Twitter X
And the Cool to be Kind wristbands are available here : X
These wristbands are part of the Cool to be Kind project. Cool to be Kind promotes kindess to animals. Profits from the sales of this product go to animal welfare organisatiions. Every single wristband sold enables us to donate approximately 8 free wristbands to help raise money for animals in need. We cover postage to the organisations too, so the number of free wristbands generated from each sale will vary depending on the location of the charity that receives the donated wristbands. Cool to be Kind wristbands help funds go further.

Anthony Head - Giles
Anthony was a last minute guest announcement. He was announced after the online shop closed. Soon as I saw him on the LFCC guest list I cried and called up my boyfriend. I told him someone amazing is going, someone who helped me cope with my mothers death. He asked who and I told him.
The show Buffy The Vampire Slayer was the first thing I put on TV the day I found out my mother died. I was 12 years old. I carried on watching the show, and every time I did I felt somewhat content and I could relate to Buffy. I saw Giles as a parent figure when I was growing up, and before my dad died when I was 20, he would joke about being Giles cos he wore glasses too and had the grey hair.
I went to LFCC and the first thing I did was stand in the queue to book a photo with this man. Sadly I had to leave as I had to go to the Jenna photo. So my boyfriend stayed in the queue for me. He was there for an hour and a half. When I came out of my Jenna shoot my boyfriend was there. I told him about the couple and then I asked if he got the photo ticket. I was preparing myself to have my heart broken then I looked in his hand and saw the ticket. I screamed with delight and then saw the ticket number 260 I did swear a little cos I was surprised at the number.
Anthony was my last photo of the day and he was worth the wait. I was telling people in the queue what he meant to me and they all could understand why I was excited and close to tears. Finally it was my turn to get my photo with him. I was very nervous and he could see this, he said “Hello” and I couldn’t help but say “Would you mind if we had a big cuddle because you honestly mean the world to me. You helped me cope with my mothers death” I honestly didn’t want to say that it just came out but being honest is best really. He looked surprised and said “of course we can, come here” as you can see in my photo I was close to crying. The photo was taken then I heard him say “I blinked” so the lady took another photo. I was about to walk away and he stopped me. He said “I blinked on purpose so we could hug for a little longer” I was shocked and wanted to cry but I held it in a little longer and said “Thank you! Thank you so much!”. I walked off to go collect my photo and then I started crying. Happy tears. I could no longer hold it in. The 2 photos were printed even the one where he was blinking. I had to choose. I wanted to take both but the staff member wouldn’t allow me even though I said he did it on purpose. Sadly they bin the photos you don’t take, so it was ripped up. But I’m happy with this, over the moon in fact. I met the man who pretty much saved my life. It’s amazing what idols/TV shows can do to someone.

So.. I met Anthony Head yesterday.
When my turn finally arrived, I managed to drop the photo he was going to sign on the floor, so yeah… awkward start. He was very nice though. I think I talked to him about Dominion and he said it gets a lot better after a couple of episodes.
Here are some pics. Apologies for the white balance issues, the lighting in Earl’s court 2 was appalling.
